Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation Welcomes Two Accomplished Leaders to the Board

Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation is thrilled to appoint two outstanding individuals – Dr. Audrieanna Burgin and Martha Barrett – to its Board of Directors. Meet our full leadership team →

 Each new member brings a wide breadth of experience and a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of our community. Their diverse backgrounds, from entrepreneurship and education to civic leadership, will be invaluable assets as we work to further expand affordable healthcare to uninsured patients.

Dr. Audrieanna Burgin 

Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation is honored to appoint Dr. Audrieanna Burgin is the CEO of 904WARD, where she advances racial equity and economic mobility through community initiatives and collective action. As founding director of UNF’s Diversity in Business program, she expanded access to mentorship and career pathways for underrepresented students. Throughout her career, Dr. Burgin has secured more than $10 million in grants and endowments for higher education and nonprofits. She’s since been named a 2024 “Top 40 Under 40” honoree by the Jacksonville Business Journal and appointed to Mayor Donna Deegan's African American Advisory Board. Known for her visionary leadership, Dr. Burgin is passionate about driving meaningful change in the communities she serves.

Martha Barrett

Martha Barrett is former senior vice president, Jacksonville market executive, for Bank of America. She worked as communications director for Mayor Jake Godbold for more than eight years and served 11 years on the Duval County School Board. She also served in the Jimmy Carter administration and as an aide to Florida Sen. Richard Stone. Martha has received the Tillie Fowler Community Service award from the Junior League, a Tribute in Leadership from Community Connections, the Silver Medallion award from OneJax, the Woman of Distinction award from the Gateway Girl Scouts Council and was an EVE award finalist in the employment category. She was recognized by the Jacksonville City Council for her noteworthy civic leadership. Martha currently serves on the boards of the Florida State College Foundation, the Florida House in Washington, D.C. and Communities In Schools. Her sister, Mary Alice Phelan, served at St. Vincent’s many years in community relations.
