Associate Giving Campaign Raises Thousands for Ascension St. Vincent’s Outreach Programs

July 26, 2024

Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital associates raised more than $21,000 this April to support community outreach programs for the medically underserved in our community.

Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation launched “Give a Little, Help a Latte” to support the annual month-long fundraising campaign of the Associate Giving Society, which marks its 40th anniversary this year. The Associate Giving Society includes hundreds of nurses, medical assistants, administrative personnel and other staff members.

“At a time when budgets are tight and grocery bills are climbing, our associates stand firm in their commitment to go above and beyond to invest in those we serve,” said Foundation Development Manager Rebecca Timberlake. “Not only are they giving their most precious commodity – their time – each time they walk through the doors of our hospitals, clinics, and offices, but they also generously donate from their paychecks.”

The Associate Giving Society has raised more than $3 million since 1984 to support community programs like Ascension St. Vincent’s Mobile Health Outreach Ministry, its Good Samaritan Fund and Mission at Work.

Mobile Health Outreach Ministry is essentially a fleet of doctors’ offices on wheels that provides free primary and acute care to our community’s most vulnerable people. Good Samaritan Fund helps our patients with emergency assistance for medications, medical equipment, and more. Mission at Work helps Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital associates with emergency financial assistance for rent, auto payments, groceries, and more. Donors can designate which of these programs they choose to support.

We're deeply  thankful for our associates' participation. It’s remarkable that people who are already doing so much in their hands-on roles at the hospital are generous enough to also contribute financially to Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation to ensure that those who are uninsured or underinsured still have access to our compassionate healthcare.
